Article: Ironclad Rules for Creative Writing
1. Like any prose and poetry, creative works should follow the typical rules of grammar, style, spelling, structure, and syntax.
2.
A creative writer is allowed, even encouraged, to break Rule #1.
3. However, Rule #1 must be broken for specific artistic purposes, not out of ignorance of the rule.
In other words, to break a rule, one must know what Rule #1 entails.
